Our Investment Philosophy
Our approach to managing money recognises that in order to add real value over time, investment decisions should be made within the framework of a consistent and understandable methodology, without undue individual influence, and demonstrate a successful track record.
Martello’s proven investment process, tested over many years, lies at the heart of how we approach the management of client money.
In its application, we are not bound by broad asset allocation or equity benchmarks. We adopt an active approach to both asset allocation and stock selection as market conditions might dictate.
Thorough Research
We conduct our own in house company research using our own proprietary models. Investment decisions are thoroughly researched, debated within a committee framework and are always forward looking.
To provide exposure to a broad range of industries, growth themes and geographic economies, we typically invest from a limited universe of larger quality companies listed on the major developed markets of Europe, North America and the UK.
The attributes we seek in the companies we invest in include financial stability through the economic cycle, strong competitive advantages, a history of attractive returns on capital and proven management competencies and strategy execution.
